Blind Man

The last clinic visit was made to a far off village on Saturday night. While coming back we stopped at some of the church members homes. One such home was of a older blind man. He lost his sight at the age of 5 from a case of smallpox. He showed me his brail Bible and then pulled out some paper and his writing device. He asked me to spell my name and the the names of my mom and brother. Punch, punch, punch he went. He then asked me for my favorite Bible verse. It is actually Zeph 3:17 but thought it was too long so just used one of my other favorites from Prov 3:5. Punch, punch, punch again. All I could say was, "Thank you, that is so cool!" (Guess what? There is no translation for that.) What a sweet older man he was.
